The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Minister of communications,Adebayo Shittu from the governorship race over mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scandal.

Recently, a report by online news medium, Premium Times had revealed that the Minister didn’t participate in the compulsory one-year NYSC scheme even he graduated at 25.

Shittu, who graduated from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU) was said to have immediately gone into politics upon graduation.

Although, Shittu(a Lawyer) in his defense claimed serving in the Oyo state House of Assembly, was already a service to his fatherland hence didn’t see the need to participate in the NYSC scheme.
