“Don’t bring our democracy to its knees” Atiku on demolition of AIT building in Abuja


Government Demolish Abuja AIT Building

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, Atiku Abubakar has reacted go the demolition of the Abuja office of Daar Communication – owners of African Independent Television(AIT) and Ray Power FM played host to the demolition officials of the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority(FCDA) today.

Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority (FCDA) brought down the gatehouse which houses the security personnel of their Abuja office.

The former vice president said the freedom of the press is we enshrined in the constitution — saying emasculating it will bring “our democracy to its knees”, Atiku said.

I received with concern reports of demolition of structures in AIT premises in Abuja. Freedom of the press is enshrined in the Constitution and nothing must be done to emasculate it and bring our democracy to its knees, he said in a tweet on Tuesday evening.
