We protested today against our perception of Police treatment of Late Nonso Micheal Onyeme’s murder by the men of Metro Patrol Police Awka with kid’s gloves. We were treated shabbily by the Police at the Central Police Station Awka yesterday. Our panic mode was activated,we saw another case of unknown officers loading. No,we said and acted!
Today we marched with loud pain in our hearts but moderate speech and dirge in our mouths along the streets of Awka. The elegy was long and somber. The DCP assured us that the matter will be treated with all seriousness it deserves.
They were talking about bringing the killer to book but we refused and reminded them that there’s no killer, there were killers. Sergeant Akpi Chukwuemeka pulled the trigger but all of them through their actions and inactions, sanctioned the gruesome murder. They were busy extorting and intimidating the public. Inspector Omerghene Benard hard earlier threatened to deal with me for refusing to part with a bribe when I have every paper he demanded. He is the one who commanded his team to flee the scene leaving Nonso to die in a pool of his blood amidst pleas from me to take him to the hospital at least to try to save his live.
At around 3:30pm today after our protest the case was transferred from the CPS to the CIID in Awka. I gave evidence against the Killer cop. He has being apprehended and investigation ongoing.
The whereabouts of the rest of the killing machine squad,I don’t know. My life remain unsafe until I am sure that the rest are also behind bars as investigation is ongoing. I am a witness who’s testifying against men I saw conspired and tried to cover up a gruesome murder. There’s no limit to what desperate and wicked men can do to shut up a witness. I am undeterred! Nonso must get justice!
Gracias to Prince Emefiele Harrison(CEO Behind Bars)a human rights activist and his indefatigable team.

All gentlemen and ladies of the fourth estate of the realm, everybody who helped in one way or the other, that made the world hear about Nonso’s unfortunate demise. We might not change Nigeria automatically but we will surely be the catalysts to provoke a generation who will not tolerate debasement of humanity for any citizen in Nigeria. If we are able to do that, then every perspiration, blood, time, finance etc we commit in the struggle is worthwhile.
March on,join me, as we relent not and do all to bring #Justice4Nonso”
